The European WinPHP Challenge is a coding competition run by the Dutch PHP Conference and Microsoft supported by Leaseweb and Zend. Participate to win a ticket, airfare and hotel to visit MIX2011 in Las Vegas and other great prices!

Registration for the contest opens on February 15th, the actual contest will start on April 1st (no joke). All contestants must have registered before April 1st to be considered. The contest will run from April 15th till May 31st. During that time you will build your masterpiece and blog regularly about your experiences of using PHP on Windows. (The good, the bad and the ugly)

The goal:
- Build an application (that application you always wanted to build) using PHP on Windows and deploy it to your competition server.

The PRICES
1st price
- A ticket + flight + hotel for MIX2011 in Las Vegas
- A Xbox360 Elite
- A Windows Phone

2nd price
- A Xbox360 Elite
- A Windows Phone

3rd price
- A Windows Phone

The rules:
- The application must be build in PHP.
- The application must be deployed on Windows.
- You can start coding at April 1st the judging starts at 1st of June.
- You have to write a weekly blogpost about your experiences of building your application.

Judging criteria (points awarded for):
- Creativity / Originality
- Contribution to the PHP (on Windows) ecosystem.*
- Completeness
- Inclusion of Windows Platform specific features
